In 2009, Dr. Nadia P. Groom earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. While at Tufts, Dr. Nadia worked as a tutor and CPR instructor. She was appointed as a Teacher’s Assistant in her Group Practice, as well as in the Radiology Clinic. She proctored exams and conducted admissions interviews for prospective students.
Dr. Nadia Pokrovskaya Groom participated in the research, and is a co-author of a publication “Extramedullary plasmocytoma” in the Jornal of Massachusetts dental society, fall 2008. As a dental student Dr. Nadia received Tufts Merit Scholarship, and HPSP USAF Scholarship. Dr. Nadia was
selected to participate in Clinical Elective Honors Program in Oral Pathology.
She demonstrated outstanding achievement and performance related to placement and restoration of dental implants and received American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Implant Student Award.
After the dental school, Dr. Nadia Pokrovskaya Groom was the first student ever to be accepted directly after graduation to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX, where she gained her training in IV sedation, implants placement and other surgical procedures.
During the first year of the program Dr. Nadia decided to practice general dentistry with a wide range of procedures and total care for each patient. She served in the United States Air force as a Captain and Dentist, and in 2012 returned to the Boston area, and started to practice in her private clinic in Eastham, MA.
Dr. Nadia. P Groom volunteered in the VA dental clinic in Boston in 1998-2000; she participated in dental mission trip to Peru in 2008, and medical relieve mission to Honduras in 2013 with “Cape Cares” organization. Dr. Nadia is committed to helping local veterans, and often offers free care for Cape Cod veterans in need. She is concerned about the well-being of the local community, and passionate about the wild life rescue. She participates in raising money for local charities and wild life rescue.
