If you regularly wear dentures, you likely understand the restrictions and struggles that can be associated with these removable teeth—instability in the mouth, discomfort, a weak bite, and low self-esteem are just a few. The Cape Cod Dental Group believes in the transformative effects of dental implants as well as the health and lifestyle improvements they bring. We offer our denture-wearing (or soon to be) patients the benefits of implant supported dentures as a full arch solution to complete tooth loss. By placing as few as two dental implants into your jaw, we can secure your denture to offer improved stability, a stronger bite, and improved comfort to your life.
To give you implant supported dentures as a missing teeth replacement option, we can either retrofit a current denture or create a brand new one, to “snap” onto as few as two dental implants. Since implants are securely placed into your jaw bone, attaching the denture to them securely holds it in place, giving you enhanced stability in the mouth and a stronger bite to eat a wider variety of food. Additionally, the implants also stimulate the jaw bone to promote continued bone growth as well as comfortably support the denture so there is no soreness or pinching of the gums.
If you currently wear dentures or know that you may have to wear them soon, we recommend looking into the benefits of implant supported dentures. At the Cape Cod Dental Group in Chatham and Orleans, we can help you through every step of the implant and full arch solution process. The steps to receive implant supported dentures are almost identical to receiving individual dental implants. After tooth extraction of remaining teeth, bone grafting to restore proper jaw volume and expert placement of the implants, we will adapt a denture appliance to support the two to four implants in your jaw. Your denture will be able to “snap” onto these implants, which gives a secure hold. You will be able to speak and eat with confidence knowing that your denture is firmly held in place.
